My room

My one year photo shoot was fabulous! For the first time I really felt comfortable with Brittney's camera and didn't give it a blank stare every time it was in my face. Brittney really wanted to make my photo shoot special, so she broke up my session into two different days. The first day was a "mini shoot" at my house. Britt took pictures of me in my nursery, and some on the stairs (just because I love the stairs!). This was the first time since I was 3 months old that we had taken pictures in my room. The second day was at Brittney's house. We did more of a studio photo shoot there.

     Everything was perfect.

Until my mommy recieved the text that Brittney could not retrieve the pictures that she had taken in my nursery off her camera. Brittney and mommy were heart broken. The upside was that it was just a mini shoot and it wasn't two hours of material that was missing. Mommy and Brittney decided that we would all get together again really soon to re-do those pics, so really it's all good.

Know what's weird? After Brittney left my mini shoot, mommy made me stay in my little yellow cardigan and play in my room and even the play room a little longer. She wanted to try out her new camera, and just "play." Even though mommy's pics are not anywhere near as good as Brittney's, she is so glad that she has some to share from that day..... so here they are.

Stinkin' Adorable

Guess who had her 1 year photo shoot? That's right, me! I had so much fun playing model with mommy and Brittney. Brittney said it best on her blog...so I'll just let you read about our photo adventures :)

I am still alive.....

I know it has been way too long! My mommy and I have been oh so busy over the last few months. I have been walking/running for awhile now, so we have been on the go constantly. Mom says when I nap, she does things like eat, use the restroom, etc.... because when I'm up she doesn't have time to do those kinds of things. I pondered trying to catch up with post from Thanksgiving to my first birthday, but at the moment that seems a little overwhelming. So I thought I could share a few images from the past couple of months. I have a slide show of my first year that I tried to upload, but it was taking WAY to long.... maybe that can be my next post. Here are a few updates on me:

*I have nine teeth
*I started taking steps at ten months, but really got the hang of walking at eleven months. Now I run!
*I eat EVERYTHING! My favorites include grilled cheese, mandarin oranges, bananas, yogurt, any kind of bread, and grilled chicken.
* I started on whole milk exclusively from a sippy cup at 11 1/2 months. No more nursing or bottles (yeah mommy)!
* On average I sleep for 12 hours a night and take two hour and a half naps during the day.
* My favorite activity is still reading. I can now retrieve my favorite books for mommy to read to me :).
* I am not in the 97% for weight anymore! I am starting to run off my baby chub and look more like a toddler (tears for mommy).
* I am saying "momma" "dada" "Hey" "bye-bye" "thank you" and a lot of other random things.
* When it's time to say the blessing I put my hands together and wait :)
* I am learning baby sign language. I can "say" baby, eat, drink, and more (my favorite word when eating.
*I've started Kindermusic and LOVE it! I love running around singing songs and dancing with my new friends.
* I am the sweetest baby in the world!

An update of my life in photos:

Although this picture does not include me, it's mom's favorite from our trip to Gatlinburg with my cousins :).
Jakob and Colin weren't the only ones having fun, JoJo and I had fun playing in the bathroom...
and taking a bath together.
Thanksgiving was great. Who doesn't love lots of yummy food? We hung out with My BIG Granny and aunts, uncles, and cousins on my Marmee's side of the family.
This was me before going over to Marmee's house for a Christmas pj party! We made cookies, crafts, and learned about Jesus. I showed off my newest trick at the time, my fishy face :)
My first taste (to mom's knowledge anyway) of chocolate. YUMMMMMM
Christmas morning was awesome! Colin is such a great big brother.
I loved spending Christmas with my cousins Joli and Kelsey.
My birthday cake was to die for! Mom took it away after I had eaten about half of it! My bookday party was a lot of fun. Lots of great books and time with my family and friends.
Mom has uploaded a lot of other pictures on facebook, and just doesn't feel like uploading all of them twice! Check out pics from Gatlinburg, the holidays, and my birthday on her page!

Halloween

I am behind on blogging! I have been so busy taking my first steps and eating more table food than ever, that there has simply just not been time! Here are some belated Halloween pictures- we had a great time with friends and family at our house and in our neighborhood. I did not mind my costume at all. I can't wait until next Halloween, I'm already brainstorming what I want to be.

Cousins

My sassy cousin Kelsey came up from Florida last week to play with me. She's about eight months older than me, so I love watching her show me new tricks. We were on almost opposite nap schedules, so we didn't get to play together as much as we would have liked. Hopefully the next time we see each other, I'll be taking one nap a day like her.

I love playing with all my cousins on my mommy's side of the family. We are all busy bodies, so it's hard to get a good picture of all of us together! Mommy and Christina tried....

....but it wasn't happening. I heart my family.

Did I mention that we are busy?

Biscuits anyone?

One perk to teething would be the yummy, delicious little pieces of heaven that I like to call teething biscuits. Mom only gives them to me in emergency situations because they are such a mess. I like to chew on one end a little bit, then the other end, then smear it all over my face. The color of the biscuit and my skin are similar, so you may not be able to tell just how messy I am in these pictures.... it's in my hair, all over my face, my hands/arms, and clothes! These pictures are from the first time I was given a biscuit, mom has wised up by giving me a bib now! Can you say, "happy bathtub time?"

Family Vacation

Can you guess where we vacationed?
Here's a hint:

The beautiful old houses and uniqueness of Charleston combined with the quiet beaches of Edisto Island were perfect for our first family vacation.I was a complete angel, most of the time. I did have a few hard nights sleeping in my pack and play, but that was probably due to me teething and getting over my first stomach bug. I'm always happy with my Colin and Poppey though.
The hour long carriage ride was a little much. It was almost tragic when I accidentally tossed my monkey overboard. Luckily a nice man chased us a block to return it to me. He must have kids. I decided to hold monkey really close the rest of the ride.
Daddy loved the tour, and Colin was BIG the whole day.
I love these boys!
I missed some of the sight seeing through Charleston due to my afternoon nap.
I was cuddled up with my favorite lovies resting so I would be a big girl for my Poppey's 60th birthday dinner.
BUT, the BEST part of my vacation was by FAR the BEACH!
Colin showed me the sand, and that it was ok to get it ALL OVER.
Mommy took about a hundred pictures of me squinting in the sun....
I was very serious about the sand. I managed to eat a little bit of it as well as put a shell in my mouth. Neither phased me, but mommy about had a cow.

It was hard getting a little space to myself on the beach. Mommy and Daddy hovered....
My mommy didn't get any good action shots (one of the many reasons she hates her camera and will be getting a new one for Christmas...) of me crawling about chasing my shadow, or getting salt water splashed on my face. She did manage to get some good video though.
One of my favorite parts of the beach was the clean up. What's not to love? I was naked, my fav., and mommy let me play with the water while she tried her best to get all the sand off of me.
Of course some of the water did splash me in the face.... but after a day of waves and sand, I took it all in stride.

I'm behind the Tigers!

Miss. Kerri gave me the cutest Ringgold Tiger outfits! I can wear them to all kinds of Ringgold events! I especially can't wait until basketball season, when I will wear them with long sleeves to my daddy's games.
I loved hanging out with Miss. Kerri and Karoline at the football game. Karoline thought I looked super cute. I think she is super cute too!

My daddy always loves how I look, but he thought I was extra cute in these outfits.
In case there is any doubt about what team I am pulling for, read my panties!
