8 months and oh so cute

August 26th was my 8 month birthday. I celebrated by spending the day with my Marms, Pops, and Jojo (Mommy and Daddy had to work that day :( ). So far, being an eight month old rules. I can do lots of new things, and I only have to take two naps a day now. I'm not crawling full speed yet, but will take a few crawls before deciding that I would rather sit back up. Here are a few of my "stats"
* I go to bed at 7:30 and wake up from 6:45-7:00. Mommy liked it when I went to bed at 8:00 better, but she likes to see me before she goes to work.
* I am eating stage 2 foods twice a day, for breakfast and dinner. I eat every bite, and usually want more.
* I weigh 21 pounds
* I can stand up while holding on to something by myself.
*My favorite toy is my Monkey right now, I love to chew his tail and drag him around with me all day. I also love playing with Kitchen utensils.
* I can say "dada" "hi" "Mama" and "dog" but not on demand.
*I wave bye bye and clap while saying "yeaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh" on demand.
* I play peek-a-boo
*I crack up laughing every time the ABC song comes on my Baby Einstein table.
* My favorite books are "Baby Faces," "Snuggle Puppy," "Where's Spot?" and "Butterfly Kisses." My mommy couldn't figure out how to underline the books, so she incorrectly put them in quotes.... haha.

I am into everything.... Here I am playing with bags, and torn paper from Colin's birthday.
Story time with My Marmee is my favorite!
I am a big girl drinking out of my sippy cup. Water is yummy!
My little cousin Joli and I are getting to play together lots while our mommies work. I am teaching her all kinds of new things.
I am still biting my lips.... I have all four of my bottom teeth, but mommy thinks I am working on my first top tooth!
Look at me! I'm standing up all by myself!

Grass

One of my favorite pass times has become playing in the front yard. I love to breathe in the fresh air, see cars driving by, and pick grass. My pincer grasp has developed nicely, so those slippery little blades of grass are easy to pull out of the ground.
Once I choose a few special blades, I examine them carefully.
I like to show mommy what I found, she's always so proud of me.
After a hard ten or fifteen minutes of grass picking, I lay back and kick up my feet.
It truly is a hard life :)

The Miller Family comes to Georgia!

The last time I saw Aunt Kim and Alyssa I was only four weeks old. I went from being a tiny snugly baby to a big six month old! Nathan did not come last time, so I finally met him for the first time! I love my cousins Nathan and Alyssa a lot! I only wish they lived in Georgia and not California.... We were so excited that their mommy left them to hang out in Georgia for two weeks!! Mommy didn't get picture of a lot of the exciting things that they did (Braves game, Movie in the park, Lookouts game, etc...), but trust me a good time was had by all!

I was so excited to go to Grandmas house to visit with everyone! Aunt Kim looked beautiful, as always.
Alyssa wanted to hold me all the time. Mommy thought it was cute that she would hold me for twenty seconds and then give me right back :).

When Aunt Kim comes to town, we always go to Cancun. It was her favorite when she lived here. Mommy and Daddy want to take her to Amigos the next time she is in town- she has no idea what she is missing out on! Libby, Addi, Alyssa, and I had fun playing together in the empty bench beside our table.

During the kids two week stay, they swam A LOT! Nathan plays with all of us little kids a lot. Mommy should have paid him for playing with is all so well. Addi had fun riding on his shoulders in the pool.

She took a time out to give me a little sugar! How sweet!

The moms took a girls night out before Aunt Kim had to leave. They didn't tell me exactly what they did that night, but they all kept talking about how much fun they had.

We celebrated Christmas in July with the kids since they are always in California during Christmas time. Aunt Peggy put her tree up ,and lots of other decorations too! I liked hearing everyone sing Christmas songs, and I liked the lights on the tree.

Here's Alyssa holding me some more..... :) I sure do hope Alyssa, Nate, and my Aunt Kim come back to snuggle me soon.

My first Fourth of July

I had a great first Fourth! We had a busy day running to Dayton to visit with my mommy's side of the family, and then to Chickamauga to visit with my daddy's side of the family. Before we could leave the house, mommy insisted on getting a picture of Colin and me (yet she forgot to put my cute hair bow in :( ).

We arrived in Dayton to find my Marmee waiting to squeeze me! She held me a lot, and showed me off to lots of people.
My favorite person to visit was my Big Granny. Isn't she cute?
I was also a big fan of these patriotic things hanging from the trees....shiny!!!
here's another picture of Colin and me... if you haven't read my shirt yet, it says "Little Miss. USA."
I was the best rider, sleeping most of the time.
I was happy to see Stacia, Jamie, Mia, and Libby (not pictured :( ) at Aunt Peggy's house....
...and of course my Nita Bug too.
The Big girls got in the swimming pool while the big boys played ball.
I stayed up a little past my bedtime, but it was worth it. I probably should have just stayed at Aunt Peggy and Uncle Randy's house. Know why??? I heard fireworks until at least midnight from my crib. How was I supposedto sleep with all the racket? Well, I didn't. Daddy says next year we might as well stay up and watch. Happy birthday America.

Some "Firsts"

It's been a while since I've blogged. Probably because mommy has been out of school, so we have been playing lots. I have grown a lot over the last few weeks. Here are a few of my "firsts."
Here I am wearing my sunglasses for the first time. I love them! Mommy was so surprised that I didn't once try to take them off. Duh mom, I love to look cool.
This is me sitting up like a big girl! I learned to sit by myself right after my 5 month mark. Sometimes I get a little off balance and do a face plant, but for the most part I've got it down.
I can even sit and play at the same time, talk about coordination!
A painful first has been my teeth coming in. I received my first tooth on Sunday, June 14th. Mommy was putting me in my car seat after church, she looked in my mouth and there it was. It is too painful for me to recall exactly when it happened, but mommy thinks probably when I was in the nursery. Two days later the tooth beside it came in. This is a strange looking pic. of me, but mommy really wanted you to see my teeth (don't tell her, but you can't really see them all that well).
Since my teeth have come in, it has been difficult for my mommy and daddy to get a picture of me without my fingers in my mouth.
(this is just an extra picture of me and my cuteness for you to enjoy!)

Here I am on Father's day at Cracker Barrel eating breakfast in a highchair for the first time in a restaurant! Mommy or daddy usually hold me when we are out, but I showed them that I can sit and play nicely while they eat. I did turn the butter dish over and on the floor, and I tried to swipe a little gravy from my daddy, but all in all I was good.
I can't wait for my next "first." Who knows.... maybe I'll be mobile soon!

Bathing Beauty and Baseball Babe

Yeah for warm weather! I am so excited for the summer and all the fun it entails. I had my first swimming experience at Uncle Jake's on Memorial Day. Here I am attempting my best future full figured swim suit model pose.

Mommy tried to dip my feet in the chilly water, but I was not having it. After all, I didn't see her jumping in.

Chilling out with my baby cousin Joli on the patio is more my speed.

Mom decided to get a baby pool for me, hoping that the warmer water would better suit me (after all, I splash and have a blast in my bath every night.). Daddy dipped me in and....

I loved it! I splashed around for a good twenty minutes with my crazy brother Colin. The battery in mommy's camera was losing juice, so we didn't get the best pictures.... we did manage to get some good footage of Colin and I on the video camera though.

Another great thing about the weather has been Colin's baseball games! I am his biggest cheerleader. Here is am making my stink face because the other team scored.

Fear not- Colin played excellent defense at 3rd base. He made some great stops and tagged some of the boys from the Braves out.

He also smacked the ball each time he was at bat. I am really proud of how he did for his first year of baseball. He only struck out two times all season (he was MAJORLY bummed each time he struck out), and loved playing. We can't wait to spend the summer playing ball and swimming together.

My Cousin Kelsey

I couldn't wait to meet my cousin Kelsey! She was actually in Chattanooga when I was born (her mommy was even in the delivery room when I came into the world!), but we did not meet. The minute that I laid eyes upon her, I new we would be the best of friends.

Kelsey loved to touch me...
and play with me on my car......
and even in my car seat!
In fact, she loved me so much that she asked her mommy if she could take a picture of me with her camera phone.
I loved her too! She was full of laughter and fun! I can't wait to be a little bigger so I can get into things with her. Come back to Chattanooga soon sweet girl!
