Kindermusic

I started Kindermusic about 6 weeks ago. I love seeing all of my friends and dancing and being silly. Mom likes to go and hang out with other mommies too! I never fuss about getting in the car when it's time to go to one of my favorite places :).

Doesn't it look like so much fun? All the mommies are really nice to me. Miss Amanda is a great teacher too!

We are learning how to take one thing at a time, and to say "thank you" when someone gives us something. This can be a challenge for me because I like to take as many things as my hands can hold, and I haven't mastered the words "thank you."

Mom didn't get me from the right angle here, but I love playing with the shakers and singing! We had a little parade in my classroom, it's fun!
Some times, I like to stand by the window and watch. They were singing "Skidamarinky Dinky Dink" and I thought it was an odd song.

When Miss Amanda pulled out the scarves, I jumped right back into action! I love putting them on my head, and playing peek-a-boo!

Before we sing the bye-bye song, we read books while we take turns swinging in the blanket (mommy didn't get a picture of this- she said it was hard to sing, dance, skip, shake, etc... with a camera.).

I love spending time with all my kindermusic buddies! They make my Thursdays super fun!

It's here!

I am happy that my one year proof book came in the mail this week! Now mom can stop checking the mail box EVERY day. Mom and  I now have the difficult job of choosing which pictures to purchase, along with the sizes! Here is a picture of my awesome proof book :)

The cool thing about the proof books is they are really awesome to have out for people to look at. Mom may not order every picture, but she will always have every image. I have a proof book for 10 days old, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, and a year!

If you haven't checked out my entire gallery, go to bgannphotography.com, clients (bottom right hand corner), and my password is jmountjoy. Enjoy!

You're seriously going to let me play in this stuff???

Mom tells me that we are having an unusual white winter this year. I have admired the snow from my favorite window in our house (you know the really low one at the bottom of my stairs), but have only ventured out in my mommy or daddy's arms.....until this weekend. Mom heard a lot of other mommies talking about the fun that their kids had in the snow, so she thought it would be fun for me to at least touch it and walk in it a bit.

Walking in it was fine, even interesting. I even touched the frigid snow in my daddy's hand.
But then it happened.

I fell on my bottom.

It was icy and wet.

I cried.

My daddy quickly picked me up and took me back inside to warm up and dry off. I don't care what the other kids are doing.... I will admire snow from my window from now on.

L is for the way you look at me....

Colin and I sent my Marmee and Grandma a singing telegram for Valentines Day. Mommy and I drove over to my Marmee's house the morning of the anticipated telegram so we could see her face when the singers arrived. Here I am looking out the window, anxiously awaiting the group while enjoying some play popcorn.

I also killed a little time by reading a few books with my Marmee. Mom made me leave at 10, so I could go home and nap. I was ticked off that the group was an hour late and that I missed them. Marmee called me as soon as they finished singing their rendition of L-O-V-E. She said she LOVED it, and even got a little teary eyed. I was still mad that they were late, but glad that she liked it.
Here are a few of my Valentine inspired outfits :) (notice my cute heart leggings in the pic above).

Here I am last year for Valentines Day.... simply adorable.

Here I am this year on Valentines Day morning on the same couch, but not the same baby! Look how much I've grown! I also do not sit like a little bump on a log anymore. I like to move it move it.
Daddy surprised mommy with 100 multi-colored roses for the big day of love :). I hope I marry a man just like him one day.

He also made us heart shaped pancakes.

After church, we went over to my Marmee and Poppy's house for lunch and to get my Valentines.

My Marmee made up a song about me last year that I want to share in light of the day of Love-
"I love everything about you, everything about you, everything about you. I love everything about you, everything about my little girl. I love the way you laugh, I love the way you cry. I love your little giggle and your sweet baby sigh, I love eveything about you." Mom kind of made up her own version as well, so this might be a bit of a mix :)

We hope everyone had a wonderful day, sending everyone my love!!

Things that drive me crazy....

I've had a lot of thoughts swarming around in my little 13 month old head lately. There are just some things that I do not understand, and that drive me absolutely crazy!

  • The word "no"
  • Having stairs in my house and at my Marmee and Poppy's house, but not being able to climb them.
  • Waiting in my high chair for food, I mean really can't it be waiting on me?
  • Strangers touching me.....this one is major, and I think it bothers my mommy too!
  • Taking a nap when everyone else is playing or watching TV.
  • Mom and dad waking me up so they can go to work.
  • Getting my diaper changed. Period.
  • People reading my blog, but not posting a comment. If I'm talking to you, leave one :)
  • Being at a basketball game, but having to sit in the stands. I want to play with all the other kids!
  • Mom making me eat my veggies before I can have fruit, or BREAD.
  • People talking on their cell phones while I'm trying to watch Baby Einstein.
  • Riding in my stroller for more than 15 minutes.
  • People asking me to say or do things on demand. I hate  really don't like doing things on demand.
  • Small dogs trying to hump me.
  • Wearing things on my head. This includes but does not limit hair bows, headbands, hats, and hoods on jackets or coats.
  • Nose suckers
  • Sharing my Poppy with JoJo (sorry Joli, but he's MY Poppy)
  • Waiting on my one year photo gallery to post. This only bothers me because mom checks the compter every hour on the hour to see if they are there. Annoying!
I love my cushy little life, but did want to share with you some of my irritations :). I know I am such a lucky girl to have such a wonderful life, so no more complaints from me (at least for a little while).

Water, Water Everywhere (and fish too!)

I am a big fan of every type of animal. I am probably most familiar with barnyard animals because I have lots of books, videos, puzzles, etc...that have a barnyard theme. I was really excited when my parents decided to broaden my horizon from things that "moo" and  say "neigh." The Tennessee Aquarium was a perfect Sunday afternoon activity for us. It wasn't crowded, and everyone enjoyed their time.
Every time someone would say "Look Keeley, it's a fishy!" I would acknowledge them by making my fishy face. When we're at home mom always asks me to give my dog love, or my pig, or doll.....but apparently you are not supposed to give the fish love. Everytime I puckered up to kiss the fish (really the glass between the fish and I) mom would freak out and talk about germs and how gross it was. I thought it was unkind to not show my love to the fish, so we blew them kisses.

Strangest thing, did you know that bunnies belong in an aquarium? I didn't either. But there was the cutest little bunny there that I REALLY wanted to pet.  Mommy kept getting in my way though.
So I got on my belly to get a closer look.
The Penguins were so cute! Mom said they weren't as active as they usually are (if you ever go and really want to see them swimming around, lunch time is prime time), but I didn't mind.

I loved being under the fish tanks and looking up at the fish.
This alligator was so cute! I wanted to squeeze him and love on him. Darn that glass!
How embarrassing! My skirt was tucked into my diaper (or something like that). I hope mom has a piece of toilet paper stuck to her shoe the next time she goes to the restroom for not fixing this before she took a picture.
Fun times were definitely had by all. Since my daddy has a family pass, I think I'll ask him if he can take me every weekend.

Regressive birthday post.....

My Marmee has really been riding me to make a post about my first birthday. With all the Christmas craziness, I just didn't have time to post about Thanksgiving, Christmas, our trip to the indoor water park, and my birthday. Not because I didn't LOVE all of these things, because I loved them all tons!
My first birthday was really unique and fabulous for any one year old who loves books as much as I do. Mommy took  lot of time to brainstorm and organize a fun party for me. I love her so much for thinking of me and risking her sanity. I heard her talking to my Marmee and Daddy a lot during the month of December about "details" and "ideas." I could sense that she was a little stressed here and there, but overall, she remained calm.
I loved all the attention being on me, and can not wait to see what mommy dreams up for next year's bash :). Here's the jist of my party in pictures....

We started the party with a puppet show. Mommy read Mrs. Wishy Washy, Aunt Jamie and Aunt Anita were in charge of puppets, and Marmee was Mrs. Wishy Washy!!

Daddy held me during the show.... I wanted to get on the stage, but I guess I had the best seat in the house.
Mommy set up six centers to go with some of my favorite books:  Mrs. Wishy-Washy,
Where's Spot?; Tails; Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See; and Barnyard Dance.

My birthday cake had the Mrs. Wishy-Washy theme :). Here's a picture of my cakes before they were destroyed.

Before I could eat my cake, everyone sang "Happy Birthday" to me! My big brother Colin thought it was awesome! Look how excited he was. I love him.
My favorite part of the day.....

I destroyed my cake :)

I got a lot of great books to go on my new dollhouse book shelf.

Once everything was said and done, I was one happy little girl!
